JOB DUTIES

Navitas Systems is seeking a Motive Power Applications Engineer who will be a leader supporting the sales team, distribution channels, and customer base with scoping and specifying the right technical solutions for the customer.


  • Work with business development to assist in the sales cycle, developing technical partners to assist in the quoting and deal execution, and the management of new projects to ensure they are delivered on time and on budget
  • participating in customer visits, supporting trade shows, assisting in media/presentation material, evaluating customer applications, writing scopes of work, and assisting in the completion of RFQ’s
  • establish and maintain professional relationships with supplier partners and dealers that will provide services necessary to deliver, install, and support a project
  • Perform power studies of customer sites, analyze and process data, generate reports and review with the customer an overview of the power consumption of their operations
  • Recommend technical solutions; battery systems, chargers, accessories
  • Support customers with operational, installation, technical questions
  • Act as an intermediary between account managers, inside sales, engineering and operations to communicate product features, requirements, system operations
  • Manage a network of various charger suppliers and accessory suppliers
  • Support business development efforts such as demo installations, ROI models and recap presentations
  • Work with third party vendors to specify, quote and execute custom jobs such as installation, unique racking or cable management
  • Support account managers, and customers with technical questions, such as regulatory requirements, shipping requirements, storage and operations requirements
  • Review sales orders entries for technical accuracy

The position requires a high level of drive and flexibility to work in a rapidly developing, entrepreneurial, high tech environment. The successful candidate will be a creative, resourceful technical problem solver with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, and capable of rapidly integrating technological capabilities with application requirements.

Requirements and Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in the Lift Truck and/or Motive Power Industry
  • Ability to create reports, analyze data, proposals, and presentations
  • Up to 50-75% travel
  • Lithium Ion battery experience (desired but not required)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, Outlook
  • Able to establish relationships with dealers/suppliers
  • Able to create/answer customer RFQ’s
  • Able to create and manage requirements; manage a project to closure
