Navitas Systems’ R&D team delivers applied battery R&D focused on transitioning advanced energy storage technologies into reliable, manufacturable systems. Our work spans advanced lithium-ion and selected beyond-lithium technologies, supported by internal investment and sponsored programs with government, aerospace, and industrial customers.

Our engineers and scientists bring deep experience across cell chemistry, electrode design, form factor optimization, and system integration, enabling us to tailor solutions for high power, high energy, extreme environments, and long lifecycle requirements. We are chemistry-agnostic and application-driven—selecting and optimizing materials and architectures based on mission needs, safety margins, and production readiness rather than repackaging off-the-shelf cells.

Our state-of-the art R&D and product development Center of Excellence integrates materials labs, electrode fabrication, cell assembly, and validation under one roof. Capabilities include lab-scale materials synthesis, pilot-scale electrode coating, precision prismatic pouch cell assembly in controlled clean-room environments, and extensive electrochemical and environmental testing.

This tightly integrated infrastructure allows Navitas to reduce development risk, accelerate learning cycles, and transition promising technologies from laboratory concepts to production-ready battery systems.
